League is heating up but we still have weeks to go to determine a winner. Join us for this trivia night where you get cumulative points after several nights but there are still prizes each week! Making friends as an adult can be hard. Like, how do you even meet people? But you know what isn’t hard? Playing simple board games. Come join us at The Castle for our Speed Meeting Night. Its not Speed Dating, its just Speed MEETING, for friendship!
Here’s how it works: we’ll have a series of tables set up with simple 2 player games. Some will be ones you’re familiar with, some you may not be. In either case, we’ll be around to explain how all games work and guide you through the rules. No awkward rule book fumbling in this event! Best case scenario? You connect with some folks and make some friends. Worst case? You still get to spend an evening playing fun board games, revisiting classics and discovering new games while enjoying tasty beverages and snacks. At the end of the night you’ll turn in a list of all the folks you’d like to see again. If they turn in the same about you, we’ll exchange email addresses on your behalf.
To ensure this event is comfortable for everyone, we will only run it if we have at least 10 tickets with a mix of genders. If we don’t meet that goal, we’ll cancel the event and inform anyone who bought a ticket. This event is for all genders, orientations and relationship statuses as long as your looking for new friends. All ages 21+ invited.
Join us for our latest play of this social deduction game! Ticket price covers game fee and ensures you a spot in the game.

The Castle Will Have the Monopoly on Poetry on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Submission Deadline: Monday, April 1, 2024. The Improbable Places Poetry Tour, hosted by Colleen Michaels of Montserrat College of Art, is seeking game-related poems for a most unique reading opportunity. On April 9th, Beverly’s boardgame restaurant and bar, THE CASTLE, will host a night of poetry and play. Doors open at 6:00 for those who want dinner or game time, and the reading begins at 7:00 The reading is free and open to the public. Started in 2010, the Improbable Places Poetry Tour has brought poetry to unlikely places like bike shops, Laundromats, tattoo parlors, and a power plant on Boston's north shore. We will roll the dice on a new season and pack the room Jenga style with players, readers, and poems about the games people play. Do you have a poem about gaming the system, a win or loss, or that time you hid the little silver top hat from your sibling? All fair game. Send us your scrabble acrostics, your confessional poems of crimes against humanity, your buffed D&D ode, your playground rules, your snakes and ladders love poems. Do you have a poem in the voice of Miss Peacock in the library? Send it! Submissions can be sent to colleen.michaels@montserrat.edu no later than Monday, April 1, 2024. If chosen, you must be available to read your work in Beverly at The Castle on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024. This place is amazing. The food is sooo good (try the Poke Nachos, mozzarella sticks, or pretzel bites) and the prices are decent. The atmosphere is great. I LOVE the patio in the new location...
What a comfortable, fun place to have in our little city! I'm so happy that The Castle is here in Beverly. It really made our family birthday special...
This is one of my favorite spots to go to spend quality time with friends and family! The food is always delicious and just what you want to snack on while you're playing board games...
